The SA fishing reel's baitfeeder feature is essentially a secondary drag system designed to enable the reel to free spool with minimal resistance. This feature is engaged when baits are deployed and rods are set, allowing fish to take the bait with virtually no resistance, which helps with hook setting as the fish will hold the bait for longer without being spooked by unnatural resistance. When the angler is ready to set the hooks, a simple turn of the handle or flick of a lever disengages the baitfeeder feature, seamlessly transitioning the reel to its main drag system and preventing common issues associated with free spooling with a standard spin reel.

Available in sizes 4000, 6000, and 7000 to match different fish species, the SA reels feature classic front and rear drag functions, a hollow aluminum spool, a large T-shaped rubber handle for improved comfort and grip, and 12+1 corrosion-resistant ball bearings. With gear ratios of 5.5:1 and 4.7:1, and up to 33 lbs/15 kg of drag power from top-class carbon fiber washers, these reels are lightweight yet powerful, making them suitable for both big-game saltwater and freshwater fishing.
